El Bandolero consists of eight spacious double rooms including two suites, restaurant, breakfast dining room/salon, bar and terrace, guest lounge, exterior seasonal swimming pool and terrace, art gallery/activity room and WiFi internet for hotel guests. Six of the spacious rooms have wood-burning stoves and terraces with stunning views of the valley and mountains.

As such, room heating units shall be set to a temperature not higher than 19ªC during cold seasons. During warmer seasons, room air conditioning units will be set to temperatures of not lower than 27ºC.

El Bandolero is fortunate to have such spectacular views one can enjoy from the bar terrace, your room terrace or walking in front of the hotel. The Bandolero faces el Jardón and el Romeral, two forested areas within the village limits.

Outdoor Seasonal Pool
Our exterior pool has a season from mid-June to early September. Re-fresh yourself mid to late afternoon from the intense Andalusian sun. Ideal spot to watch the sun set.
We are located in the heart of the Ronda Mountains and we are surrounded by glorious nature. From all sorts of birds to wild mushrooms to the hundreds of wild flowers that pop in the spring, we enjoy an abundance of seasonal nature in this valley.
Dining al Fresco
Our dining options include on the terrace, al fresco, in our cozy bar or, in the winter season, the salon of La Bodega del Bandolero. Also available in busier times and for groups of up to 55 diners.
Our room terrace on the second floor is a common area, one where you may enjoy the stellar views, make new friends, relax and listen to the birds. One might enjoy the hoots of the returning owl in the pine trees.
This area has distinctive seasons, spring and autumn being the most spectacular for the colors and variety of the flowers including the very fragrant yellow chestnut flowers. Autumn is a color explosion for the eyes to enjoy with the autumnal foliage of the chestnuts, a not so common sight in Andalusia. In winter, we may even see some snow.
Birds and Wildlife
The birds and wild life one might spot is exciting and abundant. This area has the largest population of Griffon vultures in Europe so one may see a wave of vultures or just a couple swirling around in the sky. One may spot a snake eagle, nightingale, black bird, wood peaker, owls, partridges or a stork among the many. And foxes, boar, snakes, frogs, rabbits are other types of wildlife roaming the local countryside.
The Genal Valley has a total of 15 white villages that one may visit and explore, all very traditional and small, surprisingly still not widely known in larger tourist circles; that point alone should be make this area quite attractive and desirable to the discerning traveller. Perfect for escapes from the crowded urban areas, wherever you reside.
The Serranía de Ronda is one a the few areas in Spain that cultivates edible chestnuts. The chestnut tree has leaves that change color with the autumn chill giving us that fantastic autumnal color before the leaves finally drop. This high foliage color point normally occurs in the first two weeks of November. The chestnut trees flower in May/June again providing color to the valley of a bright yellow accompanied by a strong pungent fragrance for a few short weeks before sprouting their chestnut fruit.

From this Double Superior Room one can view the mountains and valley facing the hotel during the day. By night, one can see an array of stars up to the Milky Way. Often, one can enjoy the birdsong of feathered neighbours up in the pine forest behind the hotel or in the valley below, by day or night.
A Suite to enjoy a bit more
Booking into one of our two Suites offers the privacy of its own lounge area with a wood burning stove for those cozy autumn or winter nights. A large comfortable bed on which to dream about the delicious food in our restaurant.
We are pleased to offer you the creations of Chef Iván, co-owner and manager of the Bandolero. Iván spends quite a bit of time in the kitchen creating new and delicious plates, breads or sweets, often under the influence of locally produced ingredients in their season.
